Dr. David Gilliam is Board-Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and has over forty years of experience. After graduating from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, he competed a M.D. at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky in 1973. He then completed a residency in Adult Psychiatry and Family Practice as well as a fellowship in Adult Psychiatry, all at the University of Cincinnati, in Ohio. He also completed a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
He holds medical licenses in both Kentucky and Indiana. He has past academic appointments at the University of Cincinnati and Southern Illinois University. He has held multiple Attending Psychiatrist positions and has a broad and impressive array of clinical, consulting, and supervisory experience. He is the former Medical Director of Goodman Hill Hospital and Charter Behavioral Health Systems in Kentucky, Meadows Hospital in Indiana, and served as the Director of Behavioral Medicine at a VA Hospital in Illinois.
He provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment services at our outpatient locations and at correctional facilities in Kentucky through Shelton Forensic Solutions.
